Purpose of the Role
This role supports the Customer Facing Squad Lead in coordinating and implementing commercial plans to deliver business outcomes in Tanzania. It oversees tactical operations of the country’s customer-facing squads and ensures delivery of key outcomes: Revenue, Profitability, and Day Sales Outstanding. The role also drives stewardship, ethics, and compliance policies at the country level.
Key Tasks
- Coordinate implementation of country commercial 90-day outcomes through customer-facing squads by fostering shared ownership and a collaborative culture.
- Deliver financial targets for seeds and crop protection businesses (net sales, gross profit, SG&A, EBIT, free cash flow) and ensure receivables collection.
- Work with finance and credit teams to implement an effective credit management policy for sustainable business growth.
- Collaborate with the Customer Facing Squad Cluster Lead SAC/TZ in planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Ensure collaboration between squads and support units to develop and execute campaigns, go-to-market strategies, and demand generation plans.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with regional and international teams to achieve prioritized business initiatives.
- Provide competitive and market insights (trends, product performance, regulatory updates) to regional management.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders including government bodies, regulators, partners, and industry associations.
- Ensure stewardship measures are implemented as part of integrated market solutions.
- Support the Squad Cluster Lead in inspiring and motivating the sales team, fostering talent development, succession planning, and high performance.

- Minimum of a University degree in business or agriculture-related field. Master’s degree in business is preferred.
- At least 10 years’ experience in commercial sales, including significant direct sales and team management.
- Minimum of 4 years in management, with at least 2 years in general management responsibilities.
- Experience in the agriculture sector preferred.
- Strong knowledge of agricultural systems in Tanzania.
- Strategic and enterprise thinking orientation.
- Strong judgment, decision-making, and change management skills.
- Excellent networking and relationship management skills.
- Results-oriented with a track record of developing talent and building high-performing teams.
