Job Description
The Data Officer (DO) will support ASUTA’s HIV prevention program. The role will be based at project field offices and is crucial for ensuring accurate data collection, entry, and management across program databases including DHIS2, InfoLink, and DATIM. The DO will work under the supervision of the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to ensure all program data is effectively collected, stored, validated, and reported.

Job Description
The Data Officer (DO) will support ASUTA’s HIV prevention program. The role will be based at project field offices and is crucial for ensuring accurate data collection, entry, and management across program databases including DHIS2, InfoLink, and DATIM. The DO will work under the supervision of the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to ensure all program data is effectively collected, stored, validated, and reported.
Specific Duties
- Accurately enter data for HTS testing, PrEP, STI, TB, GBV, and HIVST into DHIS2, InfoLink, and DATIM in a timely manner.
- Ensure M&E tools are ordered, received, and distributed to health facilities and peer educators.
- Collect, document, and store all used M&E tools, maintaining proper tracking systems.
- Provide monthly and quarterly support to healthcare providers for timely and accurate submission of HTS and KVP reports.
- Collaborate with the M&E Officer to analyze and validate data, identifying inconsistencies or errors.
- Share daily performance data with field staff, offering updates on program indicators, trends, and achievements.
- Provide technical guidance on the use of data collection tools and reporting protocols.
- Conduct data verification visits to health facilities to validate source data against reported data and resolve discrepancies.
- Update and maintain program databases with the latest data inputs, ensuring integrity and completeness.
- Assist in developing and improving data management systems and processes.
- Support the preparation of program reports, presentations, and data visualizations.
- Adhere to confidentiality and data security protocols, ensuring protection of sensitive information.
- Participate in capacity-building activities to improve data management skills.
- Ensure compliance with organizational data management policies and relevant data protection regulations.
- Maintain communication with project stakeholders, including health facility staff and partner organizations, to ensure smooth data flow.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Statistics, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- At least 3 years of experience in HIV prevention programs targeting high-risk and vulnerable populations.
- Experience in USAID/PEPFAR-supported HIV prevention programs is highly desirable.
