Position: Business Development Manager
Duty Station: Mwanza
Reports to: Director of Business Development

Main Purpose:
Oversee zonal operations, supervise staff, drive business growth, manage credit guarantee portfolio risks, build client relationships, and ensure excellent customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement zonal business operations in line with Trust strategy.
- Acquire, manage, and monitor credit guarantee portfolio.
- Screen and analyze business proposals, ensuring defaults remain below 5%.
- Identify and engage agri-value chain stakeholders.
- Supervise and coach Business Development Officers (BDOs).
- Manage client relationships and promote Trust services.
- Oversee budget, finance, assets, and zonal compliance.
- Monitor loan portfolio performance and report to HQ.
- Develop business opportunities and promote inclusive green growth.
- Bachelor’s in Economics, Business Admin, Agri-Economics, Finance, Banking, or related.
- Professional certification in business development/sales is an advantage.
- 7+ years’ experience in business development, credit, or relationship banking; 3+ years in management.
- Strong knowledge of agriculture, agribusiness, and agricultural finance.
- Experience negotiating with banks and facilitating SME/smallholder financing.
- Strategic thinker with proven growth and client acquisition record.
- Leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in CRM, credit systems, and MS Excel.
